School Lunches
We are proud to work with Chartwells for your children's school dinners. Chartwells believe that the key to fuelling young minds comes from understanding both what they need and what they enjoy, which is why they develop nutritious and delicious food that pupils love, alongside helping to ensure a healthy body and mind. Their passionate culinary experts work closely with us to ensure every child receives healthy food, perfectly suited to meet their needs and dietary requirements.
The current meal price is £2.97.
For children with food intolerances and allergies, Chartwells have a dedicated team of medical diet nutritionists on hand to support allergen aware children and their parents. More information on their medical diet process can be found here: The Chartwells Approach to Medical Diets..
Parenst and guardians can contact the medical nutrition team directly on chartwells.medicaldiets@compass-group.co.uk/
To find out more about Chartwells, visit their Love School Meals website or contact the school catering team.
We operate a cashless system for our lunches, with payment being made by Parentpay. All meals must be booked in advance on the system, and the choice of meal selected. Children who are in KS1 or who receive Free School Meals also need to use this system to book and choose meals, although no payment is necessary.
Marina has asked that parents inform us of any special dietary needs or food allergies your child may have.
Our kitchen has been awarded a Food Hygiene rating of 5 which is the highest score possible.
Congratulations to Marina, our cook, who received an Integrity Award from Chartwells in recognition of her dedication, passion and hard work!
So what's for lunch? Take a look at the current menu below.
Free School Meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to receive a free lunch every day. These meals are known as Universal Infant Free School Meals.
Some children are eligible for Free School Meals throughout their school life. If your child is eligible (see guidance below) it’s important that you let the school know as soon as possible at the beginning of the school year. Apply now and it will mean that when your child moves on to KS2 he/she will continue to receive FSM.
It’s extra funding for school too. Schools receive valuable extra funding based on the number of children who have applied and are eligible for FSM. This funding makes a real difference to the school’s budget as it enhances the learning opportunities provided in the school to make sure children get the best start in life.
You will need to be in receipt of one of the following benefits:
• Income support
• Income-based jobseekers allowance
• Income-related Employment & Support Allowance
• Child Tax Credit (if you have a gross income of no more than £16,190).
