YEAR 5/6 RESIDENTIAL TRIP 2020

PGL OSMINGTON BAY

Image

MONDAY

We have arrived safely at PGL Osmington Bay. After putting our luggage in our rooms, we had the opportunity to explore the site where we will be staying.

Following an evening meal of lasagne, sausages, red onion & beetroot tart with lots of additions, the evening activity was ‘campfire’ with a twist. The twist being that it was indoors as it was too windy to have a successful fire outside! It was great fun with lots of active songs, play acting and stories. The hall was filled with laughter and activity.

TUESDAY

After a good night’s sleep for most, it was a breakfast of bacon, vegan/vegetarian sausages, hash browns and tomatoes as well as cereals, toast, fruit, hot porridge and yoghurt.  This will ensure we are fully prepared for today’s activities.

PGL is set on a hill with stunning views down onto the beach and sea. The giant swing overlooks this.

The children and staff have enjoyed a range of activities today, from climbing and abseiling to orienteering. This afternoon they have been enjoying fossil hunting on the beach and have loved playing Ambush this evening. The food is great and everyone is having a great time, looking forward to our trip out tomorrow!

WEDNESDAY

Day 3 has been another great success here at PGL. The children all got a good night's sleep, enjoyed a hearty breakfast and were off on the coach early to Corfe Castle. It was a beautiful morning to walk around the site discovering key facts and taking in the magnificent views. Lunch back at base was followed by a great afternoon of abseiling, climbing and walking on the beach, creating sea monsters, rock towers and playing fun games. Dinner this evening was followed by a fun night of Wacky Races (it's all in the title!)

THURSDAY

Today we woke up after sleeping well to another great breakfast and then out to explore Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't always on our side today with brisk wind and downpours of rain but thankfully some sunny intervals too. We all enjoyed our excursion, seeing beautiful sights and learning about coastal erosion. Back at base, teams took part in abseiling, orienteering and the zip wire and we had the disco to end our final night here. Looking forward to two more activities in the morning and our journey home...
